Russian Independent Media Archive (RIMA) is a living archive dedicated to preserving at-risk media outlets, supporting the fight against dictatorships, and empowering journalists and activists. With forty-three outlets and over two million documents available through the archive, RIMA is preserving the last two decades of independent Russian journalism and serves as a model of what can be done in countries undergoing drastic political change.

RIMA ensures that journalism of this pivotal period is available to reporters, historians, political scientists and other researchers as they decipher Russia’s past and counter the propaganda-driven version of the country’s historical narrative.
